Molecular research that occurs in the LEGS lab is performed at the South Australian Regional Facility for Molecular Ecology and Evolution (SARFMEE). This facility is a lab shared with the SA MUSEUM and other stakeholders such as The University of Adelaide. It includes automated DNA extraction units and other general molecular equipment such as PCR machines and gel electrophoresis.
The long term data collection on sleepy lizards has been supported by the use of a house at the study site that has been converted into a research facility. The house contains a kitchen, bathroom and a number of bedrooms to accommodate researchers.
Translocation of lizards and research that requires constant monitoring of individuals over a period of time is supported by the Flinders University animal house which will soon be moved to a recently built state of the art facility located at the Bedford Park campus.
